Belfountain (Ontario)

Here is a great example of early dry stone walling in Ontario. This stretch of limestone and granite dry laid wall runs along the east side of Mississauga Road near Belfountain, just south of the Grange Road. It may well be over 100 years old. Who says dry stone walls don't last in our cold Canadian climate?

In this photograph, we see an attempt has recently been made to rebuild this historic dry stone wall.
