Onlookers marvel as a big stone is placed on the dry stone wall we are repairing at Kingsmere Estate in the Gatineau Hills this weekend. We were there on Labour day Monday finishing a small section of repair for the NCC so members of public could enjoy seeing how it's done.
On the holiday Friday members of the DSWAC are preparing to repair a section of historic dry stone wall at Kingsmere Estate as part of a traditional stone walling demonstration during the special NCC Labour Day weekend event near Ottawa, the nations capital. Visitors were welcome to come and watch how it is done.
Come celebrate the Labour Day Weekend with us at the Kingsmere Estate near the nation's capital. This event is being put on by the NCC and along with other historic trades, members of the DSWAC will be demonstrating the traditional craft of dry stone wall building as we repair a section of historic Kingsmere walls.
