Phase One of the Blackhouse Project. A DSWAC student workshop taught by John Shaw-Rimmington.

Ten enthusiasts in the technique of building in the dry stone method completed about a third of the project, working in rainy, somewhat adverse conditions. The 5 foot 6 inch door opening was spanned with a suitable lintel stone and much of the 20' X 15' stone building was walled to over (or close to) waist height.

The professional wallers and DSWAC students who took part in this event were happy to have achieved so much in the two days of building Please check the second phase link for this DSWAC student project John taught in 2008.
