Bell design for Nuit Blanche.
The Nuit Blanch dry stone 'bell' art installation was a complete success. We all had a great time at this major art event in Toronto Ontario on Saturday Oct 2. The Bronze Foundation(part of the Toronto Advanced Handbell Association) played beautifully as we created this unique bell-shaped structure before a live audience. The bell a full 9 feet high was constructed of 13 tons of random limestone was kindly supplied by Gord Devries of Naturescape in Cobourg Onrtario. Many thanks to all those who participated including Ian Lalond and a special thanks to Evan Oxland who organized this great event.
We were invited to do an all-night build at the Scotia Bank Nuit Blanche festival in Toronto this year. The annual through-the-night art event is held in various parts of Toronto and has been a tremendous creative success in the past . We built a unique dry stone 'bell' which was lit from the inside. There was hand bell music, food and creative fun all night long. Wallers from all over Ontario joined DSWAC members for this wild dry stone walling event.
