Held near Port Hope , north of Cobourg Ontario 

"One of the best kept secrets in Canada"

Many people discovered the art of building stone structures without the use of mortar last CANADIAN Thanksgiving Weekend, October 11-13 as we celebrated our fifth

“ROCKTOBERFEST”

As usual admission was free 

 The location this year was- 'Stonebridge', 10 acres of gardens, rolling hills and walls on 2973 Cornish Hollow Rd, R.R. #6 Cobourg, Ontario Canada 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Beehive Hut Project - A dry stone hut with vaulted roof was completed during the festival.



Dry Stone Demonstration - Teams of wallers will built dry stone ‘trees’ on the festival site.


Student Workshop — on Saturday Oct 11-12; was taught by master craftsman Norman Haddow from Scotland. —(The festival had several events going on all the time during the three days. All were free, except this workshop, which is was fully booked several weeks before the event. Visitors could still watch the workshop during the festival.




Live music- Ancient Music Trio.



The Robin Aggus Boarder Pipe Band and friends 

RKilt kilt makers was there with a trade booth, making custom sporrins.

A special tents were set up to display various participating waller's work from all over Canada.

 
Dry stone self-guided walking/driving tour of the Walls of Northumberland County.

 

Evening Lectures and Films -

    at the Capital Theatre were at 700 pm on Saturday night (followed by Pub Night at the Beamish Inn) Guest Presenters were- geologist and author Robert Thorson, professor at the University of Connecticut and Norman Haddow master craftsman and royal waller to the queen..

Special Guest Waller -

     was Norman Haddow from Scotland
