Keep Midland Beautiful

In the town of Midland there is a phenomenal older dry stone wall on the west side of the road that follows the bay from Midland. The Drummond wall, as it is called, on Fuller Avenue in Midland, Ontario may be demolished to widen the street because for a housing developement. Midland town council is discussing the possiblity, the heritage committee is trying to save thewall.

Our association is trying to help these stones remain where they have been for over a hundred years. DSWAC member Carole Bell wrote to tell us that her grandfather helped build this wall at Waverley. Wendy Shearer, a local landscape architect, has submitted recommendations to the town suggesting alternatives to tearing down this lovely heritage wall. Please feel free to write the town council members of Midland to ask them to spare this wall.
