Students were given a unique opportunity to learn walling with the local boulders and fieldstones left by the glaciers found in many parts of Southern Ontario. The workshop was open to beginners and several others who wanted to improve their skills using this challenging rounded material.
John Shaw-Rimmington and John Scott instructed students on how to build two freestanding 4 foot high walls with a gate opening on a beautiful lakeshore estate which has several newly restored 120 year old dry stone walls on the property.
Proceeds go to this year's Dry Stone Walling Across Canada Thanksgiving 'Festival of Stone' near Mont-Rigard, Quebec, Canada.
