The Fergus Ontario Dry Stone Walling Demonstration was a great success this year. More than fourteen tons of rip rap limestone donated by Eisens went into the making of this section of wall accented with a lovely 6 foot high arch. It took two men 10 hours to build with an extra helper for part of Saturday. Many of the people who came by couldn't believe that such a beautiful structure could be made with what we informed them was an almost worthless type of stone, normally destined to be made into gravel or locked up in gabion cages.
Several local OPP officers at the festival showed their approval by having their picture taken in front of the arch.
