A network of dry stone walls, easily three or four miles long and at least a hundred years old crisscross the area known as Ferris Provincial Park in Campbellford Ontario

The DSWAC ran another beginners workshop at the park on Sept 1st and 2nd 2012. This was the fourth year instructors have gone there to teach and help in restoring sections of these lovely old walls. Nine students registered to participate in this most recent two day event which included free camp site facilities in the park, two lunches, refreshments, written instructional material and hands-on experience building with stone .

The course covered important walling elements such as cheek ends, through-stones, hearting, batter and various types of coping.

Thanks to the Friends of Ferris, especially Barb and Carol for organizing this event.

Thanks to to all the students who made this Labour Day weekend restoration workshop their labour of love.
